Weightlifting and conditioning camps

The Norsemen and Valkyries Weightlifting Clubs have held summer sport conditioning camps for more than a decade and will continue for 2007. Sportsforce is a program for athletes 14 years of age and over.
The Norsemen and Valkyries Weightlifting Clubs have held summer sport conditioning camps for more than a decade and will continue for 2007.

Sportsforce is a program for athletes 14 years of age and over. It runs weekly from July 3 until August 23 at the YMCA. Workouts are held daily from Monday to Thursday. Activities include speed and agility training, core circuits, and weightlifting. The camp’s overall emphasis is on athletic power development. The instructors are Larry Sheppard, Melody Ogletree and A.J. Wendover .

The Youth Sport Conditioning Camp is for youngsters 10 to 13 years of age. The camp runs 8 consecutive weeks at the Trojan Alumni Complex at West Ferris Secondary School. The focus is on aerobic and anaerobic conditioning using field drills, fun circuits, and games. Campers are also introduced to basic weightlifting movements. The camp staff includes Samantha Scully, Jon Pratt, and Adam Newton.
