Waxers and Jr. Canadiens will meet in final

Kyle Speers scored 1:30 into overtime to give the Markham Waxers a 6-5 come from behind victory over the London Jr. Knights as the OMHA champs move on to meet the Toronto Jr. Canadiens in the Central Region Midget AAA Championship game which will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Gardens.

The favoured Waxers erased a 4-1 third period deficit to send the game into overtime.

Stars fall in semifinal

In the other semifinal action Saturday morning the Sault Ste. Marie North Stars dropped a 2-1 decision to the Toronto Jr. Canadiens.
