Walters twins golden at York U. (updated)

Twins Matt and Nick Walters of West Ferris Secondary School won gold and silver medals on Saturday at York University's High School Indoor Invitational Track Meet. In the senior boys 1500 m Matt placed first with a winning time of 4:07.
Twins Matt and Nick Walters of West Ferris Secondary School won gold and silver medals on Saturday at York University's High School Indoor Invitational Track Meet. In the senior boys 1500 m Matt placed first with a winning time of 4:07. Brother Nick finished second in 4:08 while teammates Kevin Perry finished 12th in 4:35 and Jordan Scott placed 15th in 4:44.

In the senior boys 1600 m sprint medly, the West Ferris Quartet of Matt Walters, Nick Walters, Kevin Perry and Jordan Scott combined to win gold in a time of 3:47:18. (five seconds faster than Northern Secondary School of Sarnia).

Bears and Raiders

Allison Loyst and Peter Feige both of St. Joseph-Scollard Hall won the junior shot put crowns with throws of 9.37 M and 14.15 M respectively.

Other top five results include Chippewa’s Nel Vandermeer third in the senior girls 3000 M, St. Joseph-Scollard Hall athletes Stephanie Hunt 4th in the midget girls high jump, Jeremy Poeta 4th in the midget boys 60 M, Charlie Chirico 4th in the midget boys 1500 M, Spencer Brooks 5th in the midget boys long jump, Carisa Menard 5th in the junior girls 3000 M and Shaelyn Savignac 5th in the senior girls 3000 M.
