Tyson Gilmour, fresh off being named the NOJHL Gongshow player and rookie of the month for November, pushed his scoring streak to eight games as he netted the game winner in a 4-3 come from behind win for the Voodoos over the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners.

Gilmour notched his 13th of the campaign on a nice pass from newcomer Justin Schebel at 18:52 of the third period as he went upstairs on Gold Miners goalie Ridge Gerads for the game winner.

The Gimour goal finished off a huge comeback for the Voodoos who fell behind 3-0 on a pair of goals by Kevin Ford and a single by Michael Hans.

“All the boys were in high spirits and everyone was ready for the final minutes and it felt great to help the team get the W,” said Gilmour.

The Voodoos began to mount the comeback in the second period when Andy Baker and Gary Mantz scored less than a minute apart early in the second period to close the gap.

Parker Bowman scored shorthanded at 10:44 of the middle frame to even things at 3-3.

Powassan outshot Kirkland Lake 49-24 on the night.

Nate McDonald, who was named the NOJHL Gongshow Goalie of the Month for November, registered the win while Gerads turned in a solid 45-save effort in the setback.

The Voodoos victory is their 18th straight as they head to Cochrane to face the Crunch on Saturday night.
