Alex Valenti recorded his third hat trick of the month as the Skyhawks edged the Abitibi Eskimos 6-4 at the Jus Jordan arena in Iroquois Falls Saturday night.

Justin Villeneuve, Dan Frawley added singles and Solomon McCann sealed the victory with an empty netter less than 2 minutes remaining.

Both clubs had a lot of their top players not dressed for Saturday's contest as defenceman Kyle Radigan and sniper Dustin Fummerton were healthy scratches while Solomon McCann, Trent Lizee, Brad Hummel and Kody Carnevale saw limited ice time.

"Guys who don't see much ice we need to get them involved," said Swalucynski about his club in preparation for the playoff which begin in the first week of March.

Swalucynski felt the game was a "snoozer," that had all the intensity of a pre-season game.

Marc-Alain Begin scored twice for the Eskimos. Josh Clancy and Jean-Bernard Gagnon added singles in the Eskies loss.

The Skyhawks are back on the ice Sunday night as they host the Sudbury Jr. Wolves.
