The playoffs are truly a different season and the West Ferris Trojans proved that by playing their best game of the season as they dominated the Northern Senior Secondary Braves from start to finish en route to a 48-7 victory and once again a birth in the NDA Sr. Boys Football final.

“All facets of our game were outstanding,” said Trojans head coach Larry Tougas.

“I can’t give credit to one group because it was all a total team effort and when you have all three areas; that’s the first time this season we’ve played all four quarters and all three facets of our game.”

The Northern Braves came into the contest as the favourites; finishing second overall in the Senior loop and showed signs that the small Sturgeon Falls high school could not only compete but defeat any North Bay competition.

But the Braves squad that tied the Trojans earlier in the year saved their worst performance of the year for the semi-finals.

“They gave up and lost their focus,” said disappointed Braves head coach Richard Lachance.

Braves running back and MVP candidate Cam Rivard scored the only major for the Braves on Saturday.

Trojans quarterback Tyson Brear was impressive on the day; throwing four touchdown passes in the win.

“I lost my confidence from the Scollard game and my receivers got open and my line gave me enough time and we just connected,” said Brear after the game.

Trojans receiver Scottie Britton hauled in a pair of touchdowns while running back Sandy Burk scored two on the ground and scored another on a pass from Brear.

Fullback Spencer Frye added another TD run and wide receiver Dustin Anthony scored on another long Brear touchdown pass.
