Trojans 1-2 at St. Benedicts Saints Invitational

The West Ferris Trojans Senior Boys Basketball team finished with a 1-2 record at the 32-team St. Benedict's Saints Invitational Tournament in Cambridge on the weekend. The Trojans dropped a 59-41 decision to the St. Thomas Aquina's from London.
The West Ferris Trojans Senior Boys Basketball team finished with a 1-2 record at the 32-team St. Benedict's Saints Invitational Tournament in Cambridge on the weekend.

The Trojans dropped a 59-41 decision to the St. Thomas Aquina's from London. That was a costly loss as guard Dustin Anthony left the game with an injury and did not play the rest of the weekend. Morgan Brown led the team in scoring with 19 points.

In their second game the Trojans fell 52-46 to Sherwood from Hamilton. Morgan Brown scored 18 points, Tyson Brear added 11 and Robbie Tiller scored 8 points.

In their final game the Trojans defeated Monsignour Doyle from Cambridge 49-27. Morgan Brown once again led the way with 13 points. Brear and Cole Addley added 9 points each, while while Tom Conrad returned from an injury earlier in the tournament to score 8 points.

Head coach Larry Tougas likes to bring his team to tournaments involving the best schools in the province.

“It would have been nice to have our full complement of guys it gave us an opportunity to play some other kids that are going to have to play some valuable minutes in the future," said Tougas.
