Trojan girls off to good start at York March Classic

The Trojan girls hockey team is 2-0 after day one at the "York March Classic Girls High School Hockey Tournament," held at the Canlan Ice Sports Complex at York University.

The Trojan girls hockey team is 2-0 after day one at the "York March Classic Girls High School Hockey Tournament," held at the Canlan Ice Sports Complex at York University.

The Trojans opened the tournament with a 7-3 win over Etobicoke with Briana Saltstone leading the way with five goals and one assist, and single markers going to Molly O'Grady and Helen Turner. In their second game, the Trojans used quick passing and skilled shooting to down Midland Secondary with a convincing 9-2 victory. Goal scorers were Saltstone with five, O'Grady with three, and Jen Daniher with a single marker.

In day two, the Trojans will face Lord Dorchester (Dorchester) and Saugeen (Port Elgin) to complete their round robin play. The top team in their division will move on to the finals at 2:00 p.m.
