Trappers win, lose on road trip (new)

The North Bay Trappers gained a split in weekend Great North Midget League action. The Trappers defeated the Majors 5-2 in Timmins Friday night and dropped a 6-4 decision Saturday in Kapuskasing to the Flyers.

The Trappers defeated the Majors 5-2 in Timmins Friday night and dropped a 6-4 decision Saturday in Kapuskasing to the Flyers.

Josh Ranger and Lance McMahon had two goals each against the Majors and Kyle Willard had the other.

Derek Viskovich and Brandon Perry replied for Timmins.

Rock Sigouin had two goals for the Flyers with Alain Della-Pieta, Dennis Beaulac, Johnny John George and Joe Mercier adding the others.

McMahon had a pair of goals for the Trappers with Ranger and Kody Carnevale adding one each.

The Trappers have a 7-6-1 record for 15 points and are tied for third place with the Valley East Cobras.

McMahon is in a three-way tie for the scoring lead with 17 goals and nine assists.

Mathieu Aube was in goal for North Bay against the Flyers and Andre Laperriere was in goal against the Majors.

North Bay is in Sudbury Nov. 13 for a game against the Nickel Capitals at the Countryside Arena. Game time is 1:30 p.m. They are at the West Ferris Arena Sunday Nov. 14 hosting Rayside Balfour Sabrecats starting at 1:20 p.m.


The Trappers are in the Big Nickel tournament in Sudbury this weekend.
