The North Bay Trappers, sponsored by Assante Wealth Management, added 960 pounds to Tom Hedican's 2007 food drive on Wednesday night.

Trappers head coach Robin Boucher was glad to see his team involved once again.

"It's great for the community," said Boucher prior to their Coach4Food practice Wednesday night.

"Tom's done an unbelieveable job. It's nice to see that for a guy like him to give his time for a charity like that and it's important for our guys to know they can give back to the community because not everyone is as fortunate as they are."

Also adding to the Coach4Food total is a cash donation by the Stockfish Thursday Hockey League equalling another 270 pounds. That leaves the fundraiser for the North Bay Food Bank at 14,698 pounds with four days remaining.

Last year the fundraiser brought in 5,029 pounds (2.5 tons) for the North Bay food bank and this year will run until Dec. 23 with the grand total being announced Christmas Eve.
