The North Bay & District Midget AAA Trappers start their playoffs tonight as they host the struggling New Liskeard Cubs.

The Trappers (16-17-0-1) finished the regular season with three straight wins and secured home ice advantage in the Great North Midget League quarter-finals.

Meantime, the New Liskeard Cubs, who looked like front runners early in the season, stumble into the playoffs on a season high 10 game losing streak.

The two teams meet tonight in the best-of-three series at West Ferris arena with puck drop set at 7:20 p.m.

Meantime, game two of the series is set for 7:20 p.m. at West Ferris and game three, if necessary would take place again at West Ferris at 1:20 p.m. on Sunday.

Braeden Villeneuve led the team in scoring during the regular season with 21 goals along with 18 assists for 39 points in 34 regular season games.
