Trappers blow out Majors

The North Bay Trappers took a commanding 2-0 series lead against the Timmins Majors after defeating their Northern rivals 9-3 at West Ferris arena on Sunday afternoon.

Joel Senecal led the offensive charge with three goals; all in the first period of play. Saturday's OT hero Tyler Hummel scored two goals and so did rookie Nick Huard. Jordan Scott and Josh McCully added singles in the one-sided affair.

Randell Rickard scored twice for the Majors in the loss.

The Trappers opened up the quarter-final series with a 6-5 OT win on Saturday night and they can eliminate the Majors next Saturday for game three in Timmins.
