Trappers backs against the wall

The North Bay Trappers will still host the Ontario Midget AAA regionals, but they might just do that without reaching the final in their own league.
The North Bay Trappers will still host the Ontario Midget AAA regionals, but they might just do that without reaching the final in their own league.

The Trappers will be forced to win three straight in their best-of-five semi-final affair against Sudbury after the Nickel Capitals handed the Trappers a 6-3 loss on Saturday night and followed that up Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 shutout over the Trappers taking a 2-0 series lead on the local club heading back to North Bay next weekend.

Jacob Johnston led the Nickel Capitals with a pair of goals.

On Saturday night it was the speedy Vern Cooper who lead the Capitals attack scoring twice and adding an assist in the 6-3 win.

Kyle Willard, Darcy Vaillancourt and Adam Avison scored for the Trappers in the Saturday loss.

The Trappers look to avoid a three game sweep on Saturday night when the two teams get re-aquainted at West Ferris arena.
