The North Bay Trappers and Nickel City Sons played to a 6-6 draw Thursday night at the Ray Plourde arena in Valley East.
Mitchell Davis and Jamie Olivier had a pair of goals for the Trappers, while singles went to Anthony Trozzo and Nick Huard.
The Trappers finished in a tie even though they badly outshot the new Rayside-Balfour/Valley East amalgamated Midget AAA team 49-26.
The tie gives the Trappers a record of 0-2-2 in the Great North Midget League pre-season after four games.
