Top 10 finish for Penasse

Garden Village's Matthew Penasse finished 9th overall in the Junior Men's Single's event at the 2008 BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships which took place from January 16th to 20th at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver.

Matt - who trains at Rim Park in Kitchener-Waterloo with coaches Kris Wirtz, Kristy Sargeant and Steven Belanger - ranked an impressive 8th in the short program opener and 9th overall amongst 21 top skaters from across Canada.

Penasse has taken a few days off after the event but has since resumed his training as singles as well as in pairs skating.

Next season he plans to compete at the Senior Level as a single skater amongst Canada's elite.
