About 180 swimmers converged on North Bay this past weekend for the second Northeast Regional development meet of the season.

The host North Bay Titans had 52 swimmers, ages 6 to 16, take part in NEOR Development Meet #2 on Saturday, December 2nd and Sunday, December 3rd.

Several swimmers achieved multiple top-three finishes.

Ten-year-old Julia Rivet won all six of her events, with multiple first-place finishes from Owen Baas, Robby Baas, Leah Dawson, Nikita Ouellette and Drew Stephenson.

They include Ashlyn Auger, Gabriel Cadieux, Jack Hachkowski, Julie Jonescu, Wyatt Kennelly, Simon Kolesnichenko, Brody Marietti, Emma Ringuette, Carleigh Roy, Ryan Spencer, Jennifer Tripp and Katelyn Warner.

Ava Bertrand and Sarah Cadieux were among the several Titans who tried out new and longer events.

In fact, the Titans coaches say they had a number of swimmers rise to the challenge of trying out new and longer events, including 100m, 200m and even some 400m races.

The coaches were very impressed with how well everyone did throughout the weekend, pointing out the results and personal best times are proof of the great effort they saw put forward by all swimmers.

Titans officials also send out a huge THANK YOU to all of the parent and family volunteers.

They say these meets are not possible without them, and every effort put forth helps to make the meet run a bit more smoothly.

Next up, 30 Titans are getting ready for the Ontario Team Showdown December 15th to 17th in Brantford, Ontario.
