Thunderbirds set 10 team records

(SUDBURY) - Ten team records were set by the Thunderbirds Swim Club at the East Side Mario’s Invitational Long Course Swim Meet held May 12th to 14th. Fourteen year old Andrew Palangio set six records and 10 year old Jesse Hives set three.
(SUDBURY) - Ten team records were set by the Thunderbirds Swim Club at the East Side Mario’s Invitational Long Course Swim Meet held May 12th to 14th. Fourteen year old Andrew Palangio set six records and 10 year old Jesse Hives set three. Another team record was set by the 11 to 12 year old girls 200 m Medley Relay Team made up of Megan Menard, Sierra McCourt, Jane Ferguson and Taylor Russell who placed second overall.

Twenty four Thunderbirds attended the meet that resulted in a 5th place finish and 107 personal best times for the club earning them 1169 points. Hives was the top female point getter earning 90 points with 2 first place finishes, 2 second place and 1 third place finish Palangio was the top male point getter with 101 points and second, third, fourth, fifth and six place finishes.

Overall the team succeeded in achieving 39 top five place finishes in finals and 72 top ten finishes.

Other T-birds contributing to the overall success of the team included Catherine Bower, Sierra Guido, Emma Hives, Megan Hives, Sydney Hughes, Dylan Jackson, Jaydan Jackson, Brooklyn Jones, Caitlyn Jones, Gergory Katsuno, Constance Leavitt, Elisha O’Connor, Bryanna Penno, Jennifer Piper, Danielle Rice, Jaime Lee Udeschini, Alyssa Ward, and Kylie Weber.
