The Thunderbird Swim Club held their annual awards banquet recently with many swimmers receiving multiple awards. Team Captain, Jen Piper was awarded top swimmer of the year as well as the dryland training award.

Team Captain, Jen Piper was awarded top swimmer of the year as well as the dryland training award. This is Pipers’ last year with the club after 9 seasons. She will continue her studies and swimming career with Laurentian University in Sudbury. Other awards for the night included:

Upcoming events see Jesse Hives, Jaydan Jackson, Jane Ferguson, Sierra McCourt, Kylie Weber and Mackenzie King heading off to the National Age Group Championships in Calgary, Alberta from July 24th to 27th.
Sierra McCourt, Jaime Udeschini, Mackenzie King and Jaydan Jackson all qualified to represent NEOR during this years Ontario Summer Games which will be held in Ottawa from Aug 13 to 16. The Club will resume in September after a much needed rest.
