Thunderbirds edge Skyhawks

It was a story of too little too late as with the score 3-0 and less than 4 minutes left to play in regulation Nick Kulas and Scott Faulkner scored two goals in 9 seconds to cut the T-Birds lead to 3-2.

Thunderbirds goalie Travis O'Brien was the hero as he stopped 41 Skyhawks shots and was named the first star.

Rob Johnson, Tyler Gendron and Kyle Rodgers scored for the T-birds.

The Skyhawks continue their Western road swing Saturday night when the visit the Soo Indians in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and finish off the three games in three nights with a Sunday afternoon game with the Blind River Beavers.
