Thunder sharp at Toronto Aeros Tournament

Toronto - The North Bay Toyota Thunder Minor Bantam 'AA' team finished their season in fine fashion by winning five straight games to claim the Toronto Aeros Tournament this past weekend. This was the teams fifth straight tournament victory.

This was the teams fifth straight tournament victory.

Tournament scores were 6-1 over the Vaughan Rangers,
4-2 over the Newmarket Redmen, and 5-0 over the Markham
Waxers. In the semi final game the Thunder defeated the
Willowdale Blackhawks 4-1 and then followed this up with
a 2-0 victory over the Humber Valley Sharks to claim the
championship.

Ricky Guay and Dustin Hummel each recorded a shutout.
Thunder goal scorers were Tait Seguin (7), Dylan Staples (3), Darren Palmer (3), Brad Cauchy (2), Zach Deschenes (2), Mike Mason (2), Garrett Hatherley (1), and Josh Storie (1).

The Thunder have had a remarkable season reaching all
nine tournament finals while winning six of them.

"To see the transformation of this team from August to
March has been a pleasant surprise," said Thunder coach Mike Dinezza.

"After losing nine players from last years team,this team developed its own chemistry and brought it to the rink game in and game out."

This will definitely be a year to remember for all the players and their families.

The Thunder played a total of 80 games this season while
compiling a record of 68 wins, 9 losses, and 3 ties.

Other team members include: Ray Major, Ryley Valade,
Nick MacMillan, Derek Dinezza, Addison Robidas and
Gabriel Rancourt.

Proud team staff include: Khouri Long, Sheila Dinezza, Bill
Hummel, Ron Major, Dan Owca, Gord MacMillan and Mike
Dinezza.
