Thunder rolls over Bantam AAA Blades

NORTH BAY, ON – The WF Hilltop Variety Blades Bantam AAA hockey team closed out their regular season schedule as they played host to the Soo Thunder. The Thunder took all three contests by scores of 6-0, 5-1 and 6-3.
NORTH BAY, ON – The WF Hilltop Variety Blades Bantam AAA hockey team closed out their regular season schedule as they played host to the Soo Thunder. The Thunder took all three contests by scores of 6-0, 5-1 and 6-3.

In Game one the Soo led 1-0 after one and 5-0 after two periods of play. Julien Bondy was the Blades goaltender of record.

In Saturday’s second contest the Soo built up a 2-0 first period lead and netted three more in the second period. Nick Scott tallied the loan third period goal for the Blades. Bondy was once again between the pipes for the Blades.

On Sunday the teams were tied 1-1 after one period of play. The Thunder outscored the Blades 3-1 in the second frame and 2-1 in the third period. Scoring for the Blades was Ryan Wilkinson, Stephen Leveque and Matt Salter. Anthony Scappatura was in goal for the Blades.

The Blades will play host to Timmins Eagles in a best of three elimination series February 13th and 14th at the West Ferris arena. The winner will advance to the semifinals in a best of five series against Sudbury. In the other semifinal Nickel City will battle the Soo.
