Thunder claims silver in Silver Stick

SUDBURY - The North Bay Toyota Thunder Minor Bantam "AA" hockey team made it to the finals in the Sudbury Silver Stick this past weekend. Twelve teams were entered in their division.

hockey team made it to the finals in the Sudbury Silver Stick this past weekend. Twelve teams were entered in their division.

The Thunder defeated teams from Cumberland 3-2, Timmins 9-2, East Ontario 4-2 and Aurora 9-0 before falling to Gloucester in the final. The team also claimed the BEST BANTAM TEAM award out of the 40 bantam teams entered in the tournament.

The coaching staff was proud and pleased with the teams play in making it down to the final two teams out of twelve. The Thunder have entered four tournaments to date and have claimed gold or silver all four times. Their next tournament is in early January in Barrie.

Team members include: Brad Cauchy, Zach Deschenes, Derek Dinezza, Ricky Guay, Garrett Hatherley, Dustin Hummel, Nick MacMillan, Ray Major, Mike Mason, Darren Palmer, Gabriel Rancourt, Addison Robidas, Tait Seguin, Dylan Staples, Josh Storie and Ryley Valade.
