The U18 Men's Canadian Championships run has come to an end for the young Team Winters rink from the North Bay Granite Club.

After finishing 3 and 3 in round-robin play at the event that is wrapping up this weekend in Ottawa, the North Bay squad was moved to the consolation B side of the bracket where they fell to Manitoba 8-5 Friday to end their memorable event.

Team Northern Ontario 2 is made up of Riley Winters, Wesley Decary, Grayson Gribbon, Josh Dumoulin and Aidan Baxter. The team is coached by Steve Decary.

The team went to social media to say "thank you" for all the support from family, friends and sponsors at the event which took place at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club.

"While our journey at the U18 Canadian Championships is over, we have had an amazing experience this past week and will always have a lifetime of memories," Team Winters stated on its Facebook page.

"These 5 boys have played their hearts out, sharing the great shots, the misses, the solid hits, the 'hurry hards,' the 'woahs' and all the other shots in between.

"We are so proud of these boys reaching this level of curling this year."
