T-Birds Make a Splash in Barrie

The T-Birds sent 22 swimmers down to Barrie to compete in the Meridian Aquafest swim meet this past weekend. Jaydan Jackson made 6 first place finishes in the 13/14 category with Jesse Hives hot on her heels to 5 second place finishes.

Gabriel Brind’Amour Riffou won a first and second place in his 200 and 100 Fly events. Sierra McCourt ranked top 6 in all her events with a second in her 400 IM. In the male category, Joshua Brost and Dylan Jackson placed top 8 for most of their events. Coming up the ranks with the 10 & under swimmers, Talia Preston, Zeyana Laplante, Jacob Brost and Travis Allured placed top 8 in all their events.

Zaffia Laplante had three top 8 finishes, Monika Hotson placed 3rd in her 200 Breast, Jenna Manning placed 5th in 100 Breast & Jamie Reynolds placed 9th in 100 Back. Emma Hives, Tessa Steel & Jamie Lee Udeschini swam some personal bests and made Finals in a couple of their events. James Gibb, Karyn Busch, Emildy Redhead, Madison Whittet and Evan Lechlitner swam to many personal best times.

The T-Birds are training hard for the Paul Palangio Memorial Meet to be held at the Base Fitness Centre at the end of the month as well as the Youth Cup/Mega City meets in Etobicoke the first week of December.
