T-Birds Mackenzie King finishes on top

Last weekend 21 T-Birds took to the pool for the annual North Bay Y Invitational Swim Meet posting 99 personal best times, 4 new club records and 12 gold, 16 silver and 16 bronze medals in total as well as placing 3rd overall.
Last weekend 21 T-Birds took to the pool for the annual North Bay Y Invitational Swim Meet posting 99 personal best times, 4 new club records and 12 gold, 16 silver and 16 bronze medals in total as well as placing 3rd overall.

Mackenzie King and Jesse Hives lead the way with King winning the high points awards in the 15 & over Sprint category with 4 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze and 3 new club records and Hives placing 2nd overall in the 13 & 14 year girls Iron Man category with 1 gold and 4 silver as well as posting one new club record.

Noah Swain, 12, and Sean Pulyk, 13, both swimming in the Sprint category added to the clubs medal count with Swain swimming to 3 gold and 3 silver as well as placing second overall and Pulyk to 1 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze. Other medal winners for the club were Zeyana Laplante with 4 bronze, Tessa Steele 1 bronze, Emma Hives and Sydney Hughes both with 1 gold, 2 silver & a bronze each, Monika Hotson 2 bronze, Regan Jackson 1 gold, Gabriel Brind Amour Riffou 2 bronze and Andrew Palangio with 1 silver.
Swimmers posting top ten finishes and personal best times throughout the weekend competition were Tania and Danica Gagnon, Travis Allured, Greg Katsuno, Zaffia Laplante, Maddison Whittet, Jaimee Reynolds, Karyn Busch and Christa Wright. The clubs next meet is this weekend in Etobicoke with 6 swimmers participating at Senior Provincials & AGI then the following weekend is the year end Long Course Regional Championships in Sudbury.
