T-Birds claim Y Invitational Title

Last weekend the Thunderbird Swim Club swam past the Titans to take the overall team high points trophy at the North Bay Y Invitational Meet. This is the first time that the Titans have lost the title since they have been hosting the meet.
Last weekend the Thunderbird Swim Club swam past the Titans to take the overall team high points trophy at the North Bay Y Invitational Meet. This is the first time that the Titans have lost the title since they have been hosting the meet.

The Club had four swimmers win their respective age category. They were Jesse Hives in the 11 & 12 year old Sprint events, Sierra McCourt in the 13 & 14 year old Iron Man events, Bryanna Penno in the 13 & 14 year old Sprint events and Emma Hives in the 15 and over Sprint events. Several other swimmers placed in the top three overall. Jaydan Jackson second and KylieWebber third in the 11 & 12 year old Sprint events. Greg Katsuno third in the 13 & 14 years old Sprint events and Andrew Palangio third in the 15 & over Sprint events.

Many other swimmers managed personal best showings such as Talia, Teagan and Jayla Preston, Zaffia and Zeyana Laplante, Caitlyn and Brooklyn Jones, Evan Lechlitner, Courtney Frame, Monika Hotson, Regan Jackson, Kylie Webster, Megan Hives, Taylor Russell, Megan Menard, Mackenzie King, Jaime Udeschini and Dylan Jackson.

The team is gearing up for the Long Course Championships in Sudbury this weekend.

The Club currently has six swimmers with qualifying times for long course provincial and from this weekend could have another eight join in.
