Sturgeon Falls Builders take game one

The Sturgeon Falls Builders took a 1-0 lead in the best of 3 United Rentals Senior Baseball final series defeating the Carte Blanche Rotarians 7-6.

Sturgeon Falls took a early 2-0 lead on a two run home run by Blair St. Aubin. They upped the count to 7-0 with 3 runs in the third and another 2 runs in the fourth. Carte Blanche fought back to close the gap to 7-6 with a 5 run 4th and a single run in the 5th.

The win went to Matt Shank with relief from St. Aubin. Shank made the play of the game in the 5th inning with a diving grab at shortstop with runners on second and third.

Shank and Gary Carswell had 2 hits each for the winners.

The second game will be played on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. in Sturgeon Falls.
