The North Bay Stingers Peewee Select team was on a roll at a tournament in Vaughan over the weekend until they ran into Mother Nature. The Stingers won their first two games but still needed a win to advance to the Semi-Finals. They were trailing 5-4, with the tying run on 3rd base when the rain began and unfortunately the rain was able to stop the comeback bid.

In the first game, the Stingers defeated Aurora 16-4 with Ryan Hunter, Kyle Wilkinson and Jake Staples leading the team with three hits each. The second game was a close one, with the Stingers prevailing 11-7 over Newmarket. Curtis Lacelle and Matt Salter combined for the victory. Ryan Wilkinson led the offense with a double and triple and also knocked in two runs. Lacelle added two hits and two rbis while Ben Bosselle chipped in with two hits.

In the must win game the Stingers lost 5-4 to Brampton. Nick Scott and Salter had two hits each in a losing cause. Other members that contributed to another great weekend include Lucas Brown, Wayde Van Mierlo and Connor Lacelle.
