North Bay's Megan Stacey of Nipissing University was named the OCAA Female Athletes of the Year Wednesday night at the OCAA Hall of Fame Ceremony at Durham College in Oshawa.

Megan Stacey ended her colligate career on a high leading the Nipissing Lakers to a perfect 14-0 regular season record and guiding them to their first Provincial title
in Laker's history.

Stacey, a six-foot-one fourth-year middle from North Bay, has raised the bar for OCAA volleyball players during her career. This season, Stacey captured several individual accolades as she was honoured as a CCAA All-Canadian, OCAA First Team All-Star and CCAA Athlete of the Month. Her performance in the clutch also earned her honours as she was named the OCAA Championship MVP and a CCAA Championship
All-Star.

She also furthered her attack on the record books, increasing her record for most career points (1,035) and most career kills (821). She also led the Central West region in scoring averaging 4.70 points per game (PPG).

As one of the most decorated athletes in Women's Volleyball history, Stacey became the first OCAA Athlete to win four consecutive CCAA All-Canadian awards. She is also a three time OCAA Player of the Year.
