Snowball helps Lady Panthers roll to victory

The second-year catcher had five hits in as many trips to the plate Sunday as the Panthers won their first game of the season, 7-5, over the Conestoga Condors in Kitchener.

Snowball hit five singles, tying the record last set in 1995 by Tara Mowder of the Seneca Sting.

Snowball singled in the first, second, third, fifth and seventh innings and drove in two runs.

Chantal Pelletier had a triple and single and drove in two runs.

Lindsay McMillan added three hits with Steph Bourassa chipping in with two. Amanda Brousseau, Leigh Ann Taylor and Josee Chasse had singles.

In the second game, the Condors prevailed 8-2.

Bourassa had two hits with Snowball, Pelletier and Taylor adding singles.

In Windsor, Friday, the Panthers were blanked 6-0 by the St. Clair Saints with Snowball and Bourassa getting singles.

The Saints won the second game Saturday 16-5. Pelletier had a double and triple and drove in two runs. Bourassa had two singles and Snowball and McMillan singled.

Taylor pitched the entire four games.
