Skyhawks tie with Sabrecats (new)

It should be quite a rematch Sunday night at Memorial Gardens.

The North Bay Skyhawks and Rayside-Balfour Sabrecats played to a 3-3 tie in Chelmsford Thursday and the two clubs meet Sunday, starting at 7 p.m.

Justin Lacey scored once in each period for the Sabrecats.

After Lacey’s second period goal had staked Rayside to a 2-0 lead, North Bay came back with goals from Joey Imbeau and David Frawley to pull even.

Skyhawks defenseman Chase Gallacher gave North Bay the first lead, taking advantage of a 5-on-3 before Lacey evened the score at three with a power-play marker of his own.

Goaltender Darren Rowlandson turned aside 36 shots in net for the Sabrecats while Stuart Fricke kicked out 35 saves for the Hawks.
