An impressive 3-1 record last week vaulted the North Bay Skyhawks back into the Canadian Junior A Hockey League Top 15 listing for the second time this month. The Skyhawks initial Top 15 ranking was back on October 6th, 2007.

The North Bay Skyhawks are currently atop of the NOJHL Standings with 13 wins, 2 losses and 2 overtime losses good for 38 points. Their closest rival, the Sudbury Jr. Wolves, have 25 points and one game in hand prior to their Wednesday night contest.

Park named NOJHL Player of the Week

The NOJHL named North Bay Skyhawks forward Cory Park as Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 14th. Park netted five goals and added a pair of assists, as the Skyhawks won two of three games, including a protested decision of the Sudbury Jr. Wolves.

The Mississauga native has moved into the top 20 in the league scoring race, registering 11 points in 7 games played to date. Other players receiving consideration for the award this week included Park’s linemate Justin Roy, Abitibi forward Felix Boutin and Cody Rainaldi of the Manitoulin Islanders.
