Skyhawks leave the island with a loss

Jessie Peltier broke a 3-3 tie with a power play goal with less than four minutes to play to give the Manitoulin Islanders an upset 4-3 victory over the North Bay Skyhawks at the Howland Rec. Center in Little Current Sunday afternoon.

Adam Cook had a pair of goals for the Skyhawks with a single going to Neil Macdonald. The Skyhawks peppered Islander goaltender Billy Stone, who turned aside 50 Skyhawks shots. Dominic Leveille blocked 34 shots for the Skyhawks.

With the loss the Skyhawks fall to 7-4 on the season and still sit in first place in the NOJHL East Division. The Islanders sat in last place (with only 7 points) in the NOJHL's West Division prior to their upset win over the Skyhawks.
