The North Bay Skyhawks continue to stumble as the Soo Thunderbirds blanked the Skyhawks 5-0 on Saturday night at the Steelback Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Adam Pyymaki, Kyle Rodgers, Dylan King, Brett Perlini and Nick Minardi scored for the T-birds.

Ian Wilson took the loss allowing four goals on 21 shots in two periods of action. He was replaced in the third period by Jeff Shaffer.

The loss was the Skyhawks sixth in a row to put an end to the regular season schedule and their worst regular season record since the NOJHL franchise moved to North Bay in the fall of 2002 (23-24-0-1).

A Thunderbirds victory Sunday night over the Manitoulin Islanders will allow the Soo club to overtake the Skyhawks for fifth spot in the NOJHL and drop the Skyhawks to sixth spot in the seven team league.
