When a team plays to their potential for only half of one period of a hockey game the result normally isn't very good.

On Wednesday night the North Bay Skyhawks fell behind 3-0 to the Sudbury Jr. Wolves and ended up dropping a 3-1 decision to their NOJHL rivals at the McClelland arena in Sudbury.

Kody Carnevale scored the lone goal for the Skyhawks who also had a late goal disallowed.

Skyhawks head coach Ian Swalucynski felt was poor effort by his first place team.

"We didn't show up until the last 10 minutes," said Swalucynski bluntly after the game.

"We didn't play with enough desperation. I think the guys forgot what it takes to put that jersey on and they should be ready whenever that jersey is on."

The Skyhawks look to find the win column this weekend as they host a pair of games. On Friday they host the Soo Thunderbirds - a game that can be seen on TVCogeco starting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night - and on Sunday they host the Abitibi Eskimos.
