Skyhawks double Beavers

The North Bay Skyhawks fell behind 2-0 early in the first period but where able to bounce back with 4 unanswered goals to defeat the Blind River Beavers 4-2 Saturday night in Elliot Lake.

Matt Collins scored twice for the Skyhawks with singles going to David Frawley and Jon Ryan. Josh Merson added two assists.

Michael Lalande made 24 saves in the win. The Skyhawks finish off a perfect weekend with back to back victories on Friday and Saturday. The Skyhawks started off the weekend in style Friday with an easy 4-1 win over the Rayside-Balfour Sabrecats.

The win also gives the Skyhawks more breathing room atop the standings in the Eastern conference, as they once again have a 7 point lead over 2nd place Abitibi.

The Skyhawks are back on the ice in Chelmsford Thursday night as they take on Rayside-Balfour.
