The North Bay Skyhawks erased an early two goal deficit Friday night en route to a 6-2 victory over the Blind River Beavers. Local product Kyle Radian had a goal and an assist in the lopsided victory that saw the Skyhawks go down two goals early for the second game in a row.

Beavers Jeremy Hilliard and Jared Siganak got the visitors on the board with power play goals less than ten minutes into the game. Unlike Wednesday, the Skyhawks turned the tides and cruised to a win.

"Everyone realizes it’s a sixty minute game. They scored a couple power play goals early, but basically it was one of the things that we talk about earlier on in meetings. Once we made the adjustment; we shot down their power play and took over the game,” said Darren Turcotte

Captain Justin Piquette started the comeback by sliding in an A.J Shiverdecker pass between the legs of Beavers goalie Andre Laperriere on a 5 on 3.

The Skyhawks continued to press scoring thirty four seconds later when Scott Faulkner put another Shiverdecker pass into the back of the net on the power play.

Bryan Alberts completed the comeback after being sprung by a Radigan pass. Alberts made no mistake on the breakaway, finding room upstairs on former North Bay Trappers goalie Laperriere.

The Skyhawks were led by their offensive horses again tonight and Turcotte explained how the team was starting to gel.

“They have been putting up the points all year. Guys are starting to know where each other are on the ice, especially on the power play. At the start of the year we had five new guys, and some of the teams had full power play units that played together last year. Basically none of our guys had played together but they’re starting to know each others strengths and they will continue to get better,” said Turcotte.

Adam Cook, Kyle Radigan, and Justin Piquette rounded out the scoring for the Skyhawks, while Mike Lalande earned the win stopping twenty four shots. Beavers goalie Andre Laperriere faced 32 shots in the loss.

The Skyhawks will travel to Manitoulin Sunday afternoon for a matinee with the Islanders.
