Skyhawks blank Beavers

Neil Macdonald's goal at 12:47 of the first period proved to be enough as the Skyhawks blanked the Blind River Beavers 2-0 at the Blind River Community Center Saturday night.

Nick Kulas added an insurance marker into the empty net late in the third period. Mike Lalande stopped 23 shots for his first shutout of the season, while former North Bay Trapper Andre Laperriere stopped 37 Skyhawks shots in the loss for the Beavers.

The win moves the Skyhawks into sole possession of first place in the NOJHL's Eastern Division with a record of 7-3, also good enough to tie them for first overall with the Soo Thunderbirds.
