The North Bay Skyhawks and The North Bay Trappers have officially entered into an affiliation agreement for the 2009/10 season.

Both parties say they are very excited about this agreement and are looking forward in working together for the upcoming season and seasons to come.

The Skyhawks and Trappers will meet at Memorial Gardens on Monday, June 15th for the Trappers information night starting at 7 pm at the Hall of Fame Room.

“I am excited that we have entered in a relationship with the Skyhawks," said Trappers head coach John Couch.

"We feel it is added value for our players and our program.”

Skyhawks president Guy Blanchard is equally pleased with the affiliation he has been wanting since the Skyhawks moved here from Sturgeon Fallls in 2002.

“This is great news for everyone in North Bay," said Blanchard.

"The Skyhawks feel this will be a win /win /win for the two organizations and the players. This is just a start to where the Skyhawks and the Minor Hockey in North Bay are headed towards.”

The rift between the Trappers and the Skyhawks came to a peak in 2006, when the Trappers hosted the Central Regional Midget AAA Championships. To see that story
