The North Bay Skyhawks have added some size on the Canadian Junior "A" trade deadline.

The Skyhawks acquired defenceman Louis D'Avino from the Orangeville Crushers of the OPJHL for cash.

"D’Avino will add toughness on the blue line as well as leadership in the dressing room,” Skyhawks G.M. Guy Blanchard in a press release.

In 25 games with the Orangeman the Maple, Ontario native who turns 20 in late March scored two goals and added seven assists along with 147 penalty minutes.

The Skyhawks plan to have the hulking defenceman in the line-up tonight as they face the Sudbury Jr. Wolves in Sudbury.

Blanchard also stated earlier today that he is attempting to move disgruntled former captain Justin Piquette but will only do that if he's able to acquire one or two players that will compensate for his loss. Blanchard says he still has room to bring in at least two more players before tonight's deadline.
