Sabrecats claw past Trappers

Mike Mascioli scored three times including the game winner in the third period as the Rayside-Balfour Sabrecats edged the North Bay Trappers 5-4 at a rare Saturday night contest at Memorial Gardens.

Mike Mascioli scored three times including the game winner in the third period as the Rayside-Balfour Sabrecats edged the North Bay Trappers 5-4 at a rare Saturday night contest at Memorial Gardens.

Kyle Willard scored twice for the Trappers with singles going to Paul Deluca and Kody Carnevale. Marc Senecal and Matt Pepin had two assists each in the loss. Marc Veilleux took the loss in goal for the Trappers.

The loss drops the Trappers back into 4th place in the Great North Midget League. The local club is back on the ice Sunday afternoon once again at Memorial Gardens as they face-off against the Valley East Cobras. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
