Ryder Cup resumes

The North Bay Golf and Country Club and Idywylde Golf Club will be the hosts for the third annual Home and Home, Ryder Cup style matches this weekend. Day 1 will be contested in Sudbury and will consist of 8 better ball matches worth two points each.
The North Bay Golf and Country Club and Idywylde Golf Club will be the hosts for the third annual Home and Home, Ryder Cup style matches this weekend. Day 1 will be contested in Sudbury and will consist of 8 better ball matches worth two points each. Sunday will be contested at the North Bay Golf and Country Club with 16 singles matches worth 1 point each.

A total of 16 ½ points are required to win the cup which has been won by North Bay in each of the first two years. Prominent members of the Sudbury team include former Senior National Team member Sid Segsworth, CPGA professional Paul Schweyer, course record holder Bruce Frick and young guns Matt Bortolotto and Yves Fraser.

North Bay has strong representation with 2003 Ontario Juvenile champion Ricky Allen, reigning Northern Ontario Amateur Champion Jordie Leggett, CPGA professional Jeff Mancini, course record holder Mark Lucenti, former NHL star Darren Turcotte and former professional Andrew Beattie.
