In the first game of a brand new regional junior hockey rivalry the team from Temiscaming came out on top.

The Royals blasted 47 shots at Alouettes goalie and former Trapper Patrick Beaudry en route to a 6-4 victory over the Nipissing Alouettes at the Verner arena.

It was the regular season debut for both teams and the first regular season win in franchise history for the Temiscaming Royals who joined the Greater Metro Junior Hockey League last spring.

Sylvain Babin scored twice for Temiscaming with singles going to Darcy Vaillancourt, Guillaume Brisebois, Chris Hebert and Corey Raymond.

Andre Landry, Matt Poeta, Will Laporte and Erik Belanger scored for the Alouettes.
