The Temiscaming Royals scored twice on their first 3 shots in the first period and scored 3 power play goals en route to a decisive 6-1 victory over the Abitibi Eskimos in NOJHL action Sunday afternoon at the Centre in Temiscaming.

Cedric Boutin and Pier-Paul Landry each had 1 goal and 1 assist for the Royals.

Chris Shawanda, Marc Desgagnes, Brad Clark and Clayton Happyjack also scored for the Royals who improve to 2-4-1 on the season and rebound after a disappointing 7-1 loss Friday at home to the Soo Thunderbirds.

"I don't think the final score (Friday) indicated type of game it was," said head coach Steve McCharles after the game.

"Overall we deserve to have a better record than we have. If we play a more simple game we will have more success. Sometimes less is more."

Justin Krupa scored the lone goal for the Eskimos.

Guillaume Piche stopped 34 shots for his second victory of the year. He was also the game's second star.

The Royals head out west for their first trip to the twin Soo's next weekend as they face the Eagles in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on Friday and hop across the border to meet the Soo Thunderbirds on Saturday night.
