Royals doubled by T-Birds

TEMISCAMING,QC. - Justin Thomas scored twice in the first period as the Soo Thunderbirds went on to double the Temiscaming Royals 4-2 Saturday night at the Centre.

Darren Shecapio had 2 third period goals for the Royals as they tried to cut into a 3-0 T-Birds lead after 40 minutes.

Nicholas Romano and Andy Grypma had the other goals for the defending NOJHL champs.

Royals goalie Jim Murray stopped 38 shots in the loss.

Overall the T-Birds outshot the Royals 40-20 with Ryan McDonald getting the win for the Soo.

The Royals fall to 0-1-1 after losing 2-1 in a shootout Friday night to their rivals from North Bay in their home opener.
