Royals blank Kings to sweep home and home series

The Temiscaming Royals swept a weekend home and home series by blanking the Espanola Kings 9-0 Sunday afternoon at the Centre in Temiscaming. Tim Revell led the offence for the Royals with 4 goals, including two on the powerplay.

Guillaume Brisbois, Rylan Henley, Corey Raymond, Marc Desgagne, and Benoit Fiset also scored in the victory.

Shane Desrochers and Cedric Boutin added three assists each for the Royals.

Guillaume Piche got the shutout for the Royals as he turned aside all 29 shots he faced. Piche leads the GMHL with 3 shutouts.

The win finished off a busy three games in three days stretch for the Royals. On Friday night the Royals lost 9-3 to a Russian Selects team in an exhibition match and on Saturday they traveled to Espanola where they thumped the Kings 8-3.
