Ring Rockets silver moment

The West Ferris Ringette Association's Novice Ring Rockets were hoping to improve on their previous silver medal finish when they competed this past weekend in the North Eastern Region Championships in Capreol.


The West Ferris Ringette Association's Novice Ring Rockets were hoping to improve on their previous silver medal finish when they competed this past weekend in the North Eastern Region Championships in Capreol.

The Ring Rockets skated away with victories in three of their four round robin games by scores of 4-2, 5-3 and 9-3. With those three wins, the Ring Rockets earned a berth in the Novice B division finals.

In the finals, the Ring Rockets, an overachieving team, mostly made up of underage players, saved their best effort for last. They played their best game of the tournament against a powerful Iroquois Falls team, unfortunately, losing in a tough battle by a score of 9-4.

Although, the Ring Rockets did lose in the finals, they did come home from the tournament as the silver medalists.

The Ring Rockets, now have two silver medals hanging around their necks, as they last won silver in their only other tournament of the year when they won silver in the Novice C division in Niagara Falls earlier this season.

Members of the silver medal winning Ring Rockets include Hunter Carswell, Andrea Lamarche, Hayley Lazarou, Breanna Mirti, Megan Ablett, Alyssa Thibeault, Clayton Hill, Laura Jean Lundrigan, Erica Priolo, Kristen Zamperoni, Adwenna Peters, Julianne Sevigny & Kennedy Thomson. The Ring Rockets coaches are Angie Hill, Terry Ablett & Clark Priolo.
