Regional Jr. Men's Curling Playdowns sliding in to Mattawa

The Voyageur Curling Club (Mattawa) is pleased to be hosting the Region 5 Junior Mens Curling Playdowns November 30th to December 2nd.
The Voyageur Curling Club (Mattawa) is pleased to be hosting the Region 5 Junior Mens Curling Playdowns November 30th to December 2nd.

Four teams will be competing in a round robin format including Cull-Sudbury, Lawes-North Bay, Horgan-Idylwylde and Gravel-Smooth Rock Falls.

Games are played:

Friday, November 30th - 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 1st - 9:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2nd - 9:00 a.m.

“The Voyageur Curling Club is extremely pleased to be hosting this significant Regional Curling Event here in Mattawa,” said Jacques Begin President.

“This is a high calibre curling event with some excellent teams participating."

NOCA Executive Director Leslie Kerr says the Northern Ontario Curling Association is excited that the Voyageur Curling Club is hosting the event.

“It is an opportunity to showcase one of our northern facilities to the visiting curlers. NOCA is confident that the competitors and their supporters will enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the hospitality of the curling club," said Kerr.

"NOCA thanks Chair Jacques Begin and his committee, all volunteers and Voyageur Curling Club for their efforts staging this event. Contributions to curling are important and we thank the local sponsors for their support.”

The top 2 teams advance to the Provincials.
