Raiders winless in Burlington high school tourney

Burlington - The Chippewa Raiders hockey team competed this weekend in the "A" Division of the Bur Bear Hockey Tournament. The Raiders started off the tournament Thursday afternoon against the Ancaster Royals.
Burlington - The Chippewa Raiders hockey team competed this weekend in the "A" Division of the Bur Bear Hockey Tournament. The Raiders started off the tournament Thursday afternoon against the Ancaster Royals. The game was scoreless until late in the 3rd when the Royals scored the only goal of the game on a 5-on-3 power play. Matt Bahm took the loss in nets.

The team then played tournament finalists Notre Dame and came out on the losing end of a 6-2 score. Andre Landry and Steve Sommers provided the offence for the Raiders while Mitch Thomas supplied the goaltending duties. Friday morning the team played the Collingwood Fighting Owls and after a hard fought game came out with a 3-1 loss. Kory Claremont scored the lone Chippewa goal and Mike Mandryk was solid between the pipes.

The team now prepares for their quarter-final matchup with the Franco-Cite Patriotes.
