STURGEON FALLS, ON - After a 15-year wait, the Franco-Cité Patriotes are once again kings of the NDA hockey league as they hoisted their first championship in fifteen years following a 7-5 win over the Widdifield Wildcats in the deciding game of the best-of-three series Sunday afternoon in Sturgeon Falls.

Michel Dumont and Eric Arcand each scored twice for the winners while Alain Desbois, Jacob Proulx and Jean-Philippe Primeau rounded out the scoring. Dumont also added three helpers while Desbois and Jean Séguin each had two. Cam Ladouceur, Marc Schoen, Cam Gummo, Tanner Brunet and Pat Rideout scored for the Wildcats who were looking for their second straight NDA title.

Pat Labelle picked up the win in goal while Cody Doucette suffered the loss, sharing the goaltending duties with Devin Goyer.

Both the Patriotes and Wildcats are back in action on Tuesday as they head to the NOSSA championships. The Patriotes will represent the NDA at the A/AA championships in Sudbury while the Cats travel to Sault Ste. Marie to play in the AAA championships.

Members of the champion Patriotes team include: Alain Desbois, Michel Dumont, Justin Boutin, Patrick Sénécal, Yves Arbour, Brandon Larivière, Jean Séguin, Eric Arcand, Jacob Proulx, Joël Bazinet, Jean-Philippe Primeau, Ian Jacobson, Norm Perron, Eric LeDuc, Pascal Séguin, Patrick Labelle, Ricky Guay, Roch Pellerin and coaches Dan Tremblay, Marcel Sénécal and Pat Remillard.
